Larry will be happy to come help with the lizards, but you can keep the stinkin' poisonous snakes all for yourself!! ;)

First improvement....

Small world.....six homeowners total on our street and there are at least four other lacy dogs. When we met the first lacy, our jaws dropped. Then he said, "yeah, old so-and-so down the street has three lacy dogs, and I think he just had puppies! :)"

I think we will be good to host a dog event there without any objections :D

Where are the dogs registered? Are the neighbors going to join our association?
We could sure use some more new members....

Maybe you can get them inspected and added to the registry, and get your new neighbors in the association at the same time!

It's only 10 acres but it seems like we're going to be clearing brush for the next 6 months. X_X

I

hate

turkey

cactus. :-Q

Fun fact .... turkey cactus spines will go right through a leather glove and then break off in your finger.

True story.

I dont know what turkey cactus is, but when Roy and I were clearing land, we found out that most anything with a pointy part would go thru a leather glove and it would always be when you didnt take the tweezers! We have the usual prickly pear and tasahillo(sp) and a few ground hugging cactus like horse cripplers and pincushions. If you want to, send me a pic.

I dont envy you guys, but I do know that your land will be so pretty when you get thru. Hopefully, you wont get too old before you get it done!! :))

lol - tweezers are in the pocket - yesterday we shared a pair, today, I'm getting my own pair :)

tasajillo is what I call turkey cactus -- although I seem to be the only one that calls it that.... :D

Image

lots of prickly pear, which we will leave if it looks good......

a few horse crippler also, which I thought was the same as devil's pincushion (also chisos hedghog)

on the pretty side, bluebonnets are starting to pop up on the creek bank :-BD

We also have 10 acres, and it's MORE than enough to take care of! I'm hoping it will get easier once we work our way through our list and get to the maintenance stage. Right now DJ is working on a big "dog yard" fence that goes around the kennels, but he's having to cut trees and clear brush as he goes.
