Well we have great news ... Belle will be having her first litter (Sam's the daddy) around July 4th. Just wanted to share the news as we are very excited even though it's an early litter. Would love any advice or stories of your past experience to help us thru our first time. :x I'm so excited I can't shut up!

Aw, you'll have a ball! Once you get the pups here and Belle and the pups all settled in! They are so much fun!! My favorite age is when the pups first start growling and wrestling with each other. I love those little growls!!

If you pay a lot of attention to the pups, as I know you will, you will see each pups personality come out. This will help you place the pups in the best homes.

Thanks John! I also found out I may be all by my little self when this litter comes around so I may have a few of you on speed dialing during the whelping lol! Shane will be helping his mother move from Horseshoe bay to Galveston .... although I'm sure when he hears these babies are dropping he will be hauling a** to get home. :p

The best advice I can give is, once they're walking around, don't wear shoes with laces, or any clothing you don't want a puppy hanging off of from the shins down.

lol! That is great advice. It's like being followed around by a pack of piranhas.

Nooooo! I assure you, you will only go barefoot around a litter of active Lacy puppies once!

No I do know THAT for sure! I'll just have to wear plastic grocery bags or something unless I go shoe shopping before then lol!

you know funny you should say that, I don't know how many of my son's little friends I had to explain (over & over) when we first got Belle and then Sam, that these are prey driven hunting dogs and making sounds like a wounded animal and running will not make them stop chasing you or jumping on you! I think only 1 of them understood at all and they're in 4th grade! But then my nephew who's only 4 (but has grown up coming to Texas to hunt with us and hunting with his my sister and her hubby from New Mexico to Nevada, etc.) I explained it to him once and that lil sweetie of mine never again ran around like a squealing rabbit and Sam and Belle both relaxed and never had another problem.
