Here are some new pictures of Pecos, the pup I bought from Flying W Kennels (Bobby Wilson). He is doing great! We are working on basic commands using Operative Conditioning. I am feeding him a raw diet and started my other dogs on raw too. I think it is pretty awesome to watch that little pup eat a chicken leg bone and all! He is going to be a hog dog.......

Looking good! I like the name too, I've spent a lot of time on the Pecos river chasing critters in some rough country.

Man, he looks good!! Glad that you are feeding raw! It is awesome to watch a puppy eat so naturally!!

Thanks for sharing your pics! Where do you hunt?

Reward based training, or operate conditioning, works well for high drive working dogs because they are so motivated for food and play. The more motivated that dog is, the better reward based training will work, the harder that dog will work to get the reward and the more distractions that dog will tune out to get to it. :-BD

I am working on that. I am new to the hog dogging world. I am moving to the north side of Houston (Huffman) and am looking to make a few friends that hunt hogs. I don't have a deer lease and I hunt in east Texas in the Sabine Forest and wherever else when I get a chance....

I started working shift work 2.5 years ago and vacation is based on seniority. Hunting season vacations are filled before I get a chance. Since you can hog hunt all year round.....

We will be your friends! :)) We are in Alto and my husband hog hunts with Lacys pretty much year round (a lot less right now because of the heat, though). His username on the forum is D.J., but he doesn't get on here much. He also works shift work, so he goes by himself during the week a lot. I'm sure he wouldn't mind a partner.

Sounds great! I might contact him soon for tips on getting this pup started.
