I wanted to introduce myself and give a little dog history.

I live on the ranch I grew up on following coon hounds with my dad. We also had Border Collies for working livestock. When I was in my 20's I had a Lab that I trained, she turned out to be a great gun dog.

I'm a big bowhunter and decided I wanted to get and train a tracking dog and after much research got a Lacy. Howdy (2 months) came to my home last week. I look forward to training my first tracker.

P.S. I've been called Peanut all my life and cacahuate is spanish for peanut. :D

Welcome! Where is your ranch? I grew up in San Angelo- lived there most of my life. We moved to Ft. McKavett 14 years ago. Have a small ranch out here in the middle of no where. My son, Robby (president of NLDA) lives in Christoval.

Glad to have you!

Betty, the ranch is out towards Goodyear test track.

For years I always thought that when I ever got a dog I would name him Howdy. When I told my grandson (who is a star wars nut)I got a dog he wanted me to name him Luke.

Well, we are a ways apart. But, we have a good representation for lacys on ranches around San Angelo. ;) Bob Lacy (a Lacy heir) has a ranch out by Water Valley and Carlsbad and has one lacy. His brother, Lance (Lacy Realty) has a lacy also. There is a couple of lacys out on a ranch by Knickerbocker. I know of a couple of others in San Angelo. Some day we should have a SA get together!!

Are you an Aggie? That's how our Howdy got his name.

I got the name from an old movie "The Rounders" with Glen Ford and Henry Fonda. Fonda's character was called Howdy. Glen asked him why he called himself that, "wherever I go everyone knows my name".
