We spent a few days with Rod, Courtney, and Reagan earlier this week and got to do some hunting. It's hard for Eli to be quiet in the blind, so luckily DJ was able to get a doe pretty quickly. Courtney may kill me for posting this, but you can see that Eli's joy is contagious!

The next morning, DJ got another doe with his bow (this was only his second archery kill). He made a good shot, but it ran a ways. Eli and I got to tag along and watch Rowdy track it...she did a great job and practically dragged Courtney to the doe.

I thought it was really neat because Rowdy is out of our kennel. Courtney and Rod have done a great job training her and have given her plenty of opportunities to track. How many Lacy breeders get to have one of their "puppies" track a deer for them? Pretty cool!

I know that you all had a blast!! DJ is never going to want for a hunting partner- at least until girls come into Eli's life! He is an amazing little boy with an amazing mom and dad! I cant tell you how much I love that little Eli! He's an amazing little boy!

Does Reagan hunt any? I cant remember.

Betty, I think you have the benefit of only being around Eli when he's doing outdoor/dog stuff (his favorites). You need to come spend a couple of weeks with us and watch me try to make the little booger get up in the morning, take a bath, etc.

Reagan hunted with Rod while we were there. She and Eli had fun together. :)
