Trapper decided today (without asking mind you! :)) ) to begin the secondary phase of training with Bear & Mimzy...
The three of them collaborated an escape, quite as church mice..and went exploring the woods and neighbors pasture unseen by anyone until Mike pulled in the drive. They were racing back across the pasture for the horse trough ...where Trap then taught them the art of diving.. :)) they hit every water bucket & hole all the way back to their kennels.

So they are going in the woods with Trapper on the next hunt. Want to see just how far they will follow him..
In the mean time, their escape rout which consisted of a hole that I`m pretty sure just missed China, is filled in with a boulder and dirt so they are secure in their runs until they figure the locks out.. :ymsigh:

So I spoke too soon..Bear and Mimzy figured out the lock at around 4a.m.
I was alerted to this fact when awaken by them baying my cat on the front porch! :(

You know I can't complain because these young pups are doing exactly what a good working line of Lacys should be doing but they could pick a later time.. :)) 4 this morning was not nice!

Shannon :)) except the kiddos slept through it..Mike would have as well had I not woke him up hollering "Hey YOU have dogs out" :))
By the time he was up Bear had come to me and lay at my feet..he knew he was in trouble
And Miss. Mimzy..she hauled a$$ back to her pen where she laid down and pretended she had not done anything.. /:) She is too smart for her own good !

Did I mention that the dogs pens and run yard is almost football field length from the house? They had to get through 2 gates after escaping their roofed & locked kennel..

I was glad to see they were working their noses, minds and feet all at the same time as well as not being afraid to get a head without a grown dog leading the way :p
And they didn't just get into mischief, they went hunting..albeit cat hunting ..it was hunting just the same. Peter (the cat) was not so thrilled about the early morning escapades :))

Mis, I love it :)) Good for those pups! Bear is so pretty, I'm so glad his drive is kicking in. And his partner in crime... well... that's what you get for going back to those old Hill Country bloodlines. And it looks like what you get is trouble ;)

Julie you couldn't be more right about Mimzy and evidently she is teaching Bear everything she knows X_X

I had Bear kenneled in the run under the big oak beside the house yesterday, looked up he was at the door..so I put him back in and hid around the corner to see how he was escaping ....he jumped, from a sitting position, over the 6 foot chain link...
Guess fence training is complete.. :)) he should be able to get to ANY pig and/or Bay!

Found my card reader YAY so I`m off to take some pics !! Show ya the funky colored Boar we brought home yesterday ..
