You know what they say, when you aren't looking you'll find it...

Chris, I just found out there is a bay open for practice in Arkansas. I know hogs aren't as exciting as the tree rats ;) but I figure it might make for an interesting weekend and some tired Lacys. I'm not sure if this is close to you, but it's in Rison, 15 miles south of Pine Bluff. It's nothing fancy, just casual practice, but the owner used to be a serious competitor and is well respected. He requested I not post his name and number publicly on a strange board, but I have his number and said he's more than happy to help. So if anyone is interested, let me know!

"For those of you that have no place to work or train your dogs . I live in South Central Arkansas and have a small practice pen . Anyone that would like to come and work your dogs send me a pm . We practice the second Saturday of every month , weather permitting . We charge $10.00 per dog . Run as many times as you want . No catch dogs , no cameras and no dogs in heat . The pen is set up as a competition style pen , ( 50 X 50 ) . Two entrance gates and one exit gate . It has been to wet here for me to dub their teeth , so we are encouraging all dogs to wear a cut collar . Our next bay will start around 9:00 am on March 13th . This is family oriented , so please be respectable ."

"You must be a very small minority no matter who you hang around with. Maybe you should start a magazine, Vegetarian Hog Dogging Monthly, find some like-minded individuals."

Thank you for the post!! That sounds like a lot of fun! Rison would be about an hour and a half from me, but I bet I could make a weekend out of it on the way to deer camp. If you could PM me his info I might call him and check it out.

Thanks again :)
