No rain here! It is light jacket weather today, though.

LOL yes in Brenham we have had a light drizzling rain this morning.
Well the track is out just the same :)

It is just over 500yards
Several zigging and zagging down trails.
3 sharp 90deg+ turns
2 times in and out of a wet creek, one of those is a back track u-turn
8 oz of blood

Everything went great!
A finished trail is a great trail :)
It is good that the dog was on her game because we actually entered the creek 3 times, lol.
We marked out the trail every so often with orange flagging and it was a good thing.
After we went into the creek the second time and made the u-turn back out of the creek. The trail turned sharp left and followed the bank for about 30 yards. Then went back into the creek, and traveled down the creek bottom for about 50 yards until it veered out to the right up a trail.
We both my son and I forgot about that last creek entry and exit, lol. When Daisy dove down the creek bank and took off down the creek we looked at each other and said " we did not go back in the creek, did we?". We followed her and looked down the creek and noticed the next flag as the trail veered out agin to the right.
Point is I forgot to mark that turn and had to trust the dog.

Good lesson for you both. I know that is something I have to work at. :)

Glad it went so well.

Chris you are doing really good with her training. Almost a year old now. I have Mac and Boy , Daisy brothers both here now. Mac I was male I kept his training is coming along pretty good , he has been slow to start then he got cut pretty bad about 2.5 months ago. He is getting better but the cut may have done permanent damage. We will not know for a while how that works out. Boy came back to me from a buyer to see if we can get him started on hogs. Buyer said he had no interest at all in hogs. He lacks confidence seems to me he was kennel all the time and maybe been put on more pig than he could handle at a young age. He would not even look at a 30 lb pig I had 4 days ago. I know have him starting to bark outside the pen. Long way to go . The other sister is hog hunting in Louisiana and doing well. Great work with Daisy !!!!

It is true that a lot of possible great dogs are mentally damaged as young pups. That can be true in any line of work with any breed. It could be a long road back for those pups.

I wish Macs was in his head that's a easy fix. The leg that was damaged is his problem. He will still give it hell on his 3 good ones.

Dang John I hate to hear that. Although that does come with the life of a working dog.

Yes it does Chris. We are still hoping it works its self out the rest of the way. He sure wants to get back in the pen but we haven't let him he just isn't 100%. But we do let him sit out side the pen and watch it drives him crazy. LOL
