Me and the kin took advantage of the cooler weather last night and this morning. We've been running dogs on the pea patches for a local farmer. Ricky Bobby struck a hog a couple hundred yards from us. The bay broke a couple of times before the other dogs got there, and he lost him. About 5 minutes later, Heath's mutt dog struck and Jeff's catahoula held him until the rest of the pack got there, then they bayed solid. It was some thick stuff, and it took us a while to get to them (about 600 yards).

When I got there, they had a good boar (I guessed him at about 265) with 2-inch cutters. Luckily, he only had teeth on one side, but Shelly still got a little cut.

This is the one from last night.

We all went again this morning, and got on some hogs early. We caught a boar about 165...by far the best teeth I've ever seen on a hog that size (over 2 inches). Unfortunately, he worked Aggie over a little, but she'll be ok. Cookie did really well and I got to watch the catch. It's always fun to actually see the bay and catch. I wish I could figure out how to get pictures off my phone, since I've broken all of our cameras and it's all I have.

NICE!

Congratulations, I hope for similar luck tonight and tomorrow morning.

Way to go DJ :-BD I'm excited you're finally able to get online and share some East Texas hog dog stories with us!
