Well, I got my first out of state hog. Several of the guys that I hunt with got on a hunting lease in Oklahoma. It is mainly for deer, but Heath, Chase and I went up Friday night did a little scouting and went hog hunting Saturday morning. We only took Ricky Bobby, Tuff, Tanner, and Cookie. The dogs hunted very well all morning. They struck two different times and stayed with it for about a mile each time but could not get them shut down. At about 9:30 we were about ready to call it quits since it was starting to warm up, then Ricky sounded off at 275 yds. Tuff and Tanner were with in sight but not for long. Ricky was hammering hard and we took off. Was not long before Tuff and Tanner joined in the fun. We got fairly close and I turned Cookie loose. I dont know if she missed or if the boar saw her coming, but he broke for about 40 yds and they stopped him again. This time he was a caught hog. Me and Heath were there shortly, and Cookie had him caught in a dry creek bed. He was about a 175lb boar and Cookie was handling him well by herself. I legged him, flipped him, and stuck him. It would have been a great end to a long hunt, but Heath's mut dog Tanner got worked over pretty bad and we're still not sure if he will make it. Which makes me glad the other two did not try and help Cookie, who was more than capable of handling the situation.
Chase took a couple of pictures with his phone I will see if I can post them later.

Also I want to brag on the new accessory Aaron bought for our Garmin. It is the truck mount antenna that works with the Garmin. He ordered it from gundogsupply.com, and it only cost about $25. There were numerous times we lost the dogs at about .75 miles or so, but as soon as we hooked it up to the antenna, we picked them back up instantly, and tracked them up to distances of 1.4 miles or so. I felt it was well worth the money.

Sounds like a good hunt. I guess that hogs are about the same on both sides of the Red, huh? I hope that the dog comes out okay.
