Had a doe hit low on Saturday morning, no vitals just high on the leg. I had Sadie and Possum, these dogs are not Lacys, Digger my Lacy was not on this track, working Possum since he just turned one year old. I placed a mark where we started tracking and where Sadie finished. At one time she was working back towards me and had 2 doe cross in front of me, I was thinking to myself, she better not be trashing on live deer. Before Sadie got to me I could hear a deer moving in the brush, next I heard Sadies collar as she worked in front of me and was gone again, I never did see her or the deer. She crossed 30 yards from my truck and as I zoomed in on my gps and found her track, as I followed, I noticed a drop of blood. I was watching her work on my gps for about 15 minutes then I hear the deer bellowing, caught doe. I made it to Sadie and she had the doe in the water. I drug her out and finished her. Hell of a track for being kenneled all off season. This dog is by far the best dog I have ever worked.

Hope the gps picture workes as I overlapped it with google earth..new for me :)

Ill break down the track later this evening and explain what was going on, especially at the beginning where all the bunch of lines are bundled up.

I have been thinking to myself all summer, if Sadie starts this year like she finished last year, I have a great dog on my hands. Well, I didnt expect such a difficult track on her second drop, but she pulled the track off and I was on cloud 9.

Track was .96 miles

She is a line bred dog, and her offspring are also products of line breeding, lets see if I can reproduce Sadie in the future.

That's awesome. I could of used a dog yesterday in Rocksprings. Hit a doe, looked like a good hit. No passthrough, no blood, no deer.

here is the breakdown so you have an idea what was going on during the track. All the lines around the truck were when Sadie and Possum were trying to pick up sign, I walked her to the first blood and she was gone from there. Possum walked by me most of the track. I stayed by the truck area until she caught the doe.

Jerry, good job and a hell of a track for just getting back in the swing of things with a young dog, congratulations to the both of ya'll. I love that sound when they catch.
Had to break Pup out on a big deer last week, bad angle hit with a bow. He caught him but I think the deer gave as much as he got, the deer was a old fighter and he did not go down with out a fight.

e-mail me when you have time, I would like your opinion on a few things. kcnueces@yahoo.com
