All Lacy dog owners are invited to participate at LSWDA.org as would love to have some info shared for an about the Texas State dog in our working dog albums and message forums, Below listed are a few things currently happening in LSWDA-

LSWDA announces 2 new Membership Drives!
With the new Legislative Session coming in January 2011, LSWDA has begun 2 new Membership Campaigns to raise funding to help pay a lobbyist in Austin to fight against anti-dog legislation. Some of the funds raised with these two Campaigns will also help LSWDA put together a professional booth to attend events and help educate others regarding working dogs – both their heritage and their future.

Campaign #1 – Dual Membership – For $35 you receive dual membership in LSWDA and RPOA. A portion of this membership will go toward paying a lobbyist through RPOA to fight anti dog legislation. This campaign runs from today until January 30, 2011.

Campaign #2 –LSWDA Lifetime Membership – For $150 you receive a lifetime membership with LSWDA and a one year membership to RPOA with a portion of this membership going towards paying a lobbyist through RPOA to fight anti dog legislation. This campaign will run from now until December 31, 2011.

Both of these campaigns will also help LSWDA raise funding to purchase booth items for future events that are in the works for 2011. Items in need are tables, table covers, pop-up tent, banners, display items, DVDs on working dogs, TV, DVD player, educational brochures and items, and many other items. We will be designing and offering T-shirts, caps, and decals as well!!

If paying by PayPal, please type in the comments which campaign you are donating to.

LSWDA Organization Events:
• LSWDA is working on an event after deer season that will include both Forestry Departments, TPWD, landowners, and many others coming together to work on the Sam Houston National Forest dilemma.
• LSWDA has been invited to attend an event in Conroe, Texas being put on by TPWD and both the US Forestry Service and Texas Forestry Service in March.
• Lone Star, the LSWDA Ambassador, just attended a NALC show in Mississippi where he won his class, 6-9 month olds, and 9 points toward his Champion title. LSWDA is looking at sending him to another NALC show in February in Florida. Not only is Lone Star working on gaining his title but he is working toward becoming a well rounded representative for LSWDA as well.
• Along with these events, LSWDA has also enacted our first Care Package Campaign for our Military Men and Women and the K9’s that serve so that we can be free. We are looking at getting packages sent out to them prior to Christmas so that they might receive it by then. Anything you would like to donate, please do so. There is a list of items here on the LSWDA website and money is being accepted as well. If you are like some of us and money is tight, please just write a note, letter, or a card to be placed in the package. We want to let our guys and gals and the K9 partners know that they are being remembered and supported.

These are just some of the events that have been planned for the beginning of 2011.

There will be many more. We need your help to accomplish our mission and goals. Please become a member of LSWDA today and make a difference where your working dog is concerned!!
