Just a reminder, please pre-register if you intend to compete in the tracking trial so that we can prepare the lines in advance.

If you are not interested in competing in the trials, the blood tracking workshop (held by Atfulldraw) will be $5. The workshop consists of a seminar and an artificial trail. The hog bay is $5 per run. Fred's snake clinic is $35.
Lunch and concessions will be available for purchase.

Just thought that I would post a link to the form, since I had to look it up to send in mine. :ymblushing:

I also wanted to add some info on the challenge. This event is working towards a dog achieving points. It will work much like a field trial for hunting dogs. I will be entering Lucy again, even tho she took second place in master tracker last year. The object is to get the most points. Each time Lucy places in a tracking event, she will receive a certain amount of points depending on where she places. When she has achieved a certain amount of points, she will either move on to a higher level of tracking, or she will achieve the title of Champion. At that point, she will then only be allowed to compete against other Champions. Once she places in that way, then she could become a Grand Champion. This will take her a few years to complete. The length of time will depend on how many times I run her in an event and how she places. When we finish, I will be able to tell anyone that she is the best of the best in field tracks. Since Lucy and I no longer are no longer physically able to track, this give me a way to prove how good she is (and she is good!!) and to give her progeny a good back ground.

We are working on ways to certify dogs who work and find live deer. This will be done thru GPS, pictures and affidavits on the deer found. Those dogs will also have titles that they can achieve so that they can also achieve the best of the best title.

Whew! What a weekend! I have so much to say and so many to thank. I will post the results of the challenge and pictures but first I want to thank everyone that came out and participated.

I love being able to share with you the fun we enjoy with our dogs and I can't tell you how exciting it is to see our events grow and the competition continue to get better. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

To my friends in the NLDA, this would not be possible without all of you. Each member brings something essential to the table and your efforts are greatly appreciated.

I'm already looking forward to our next trial in the Fall.

What a great weekend met some really great folks and got to hang with old friends. I also saw some of the best tracking dogs I have seen in a long time. I think the tracking challange brings out the best dogs around. It is much more fun when you make it a competion rather than just following a mock trail. You are not just up against the trail but also against other handlers and dogs. It dosen't just stop at certification Makes for some great fun and bragging rights! I am so proud of our orginization for coming up with this and being the only ones doing it . It just keeps getting bigger and better and it just never gets old to those who compete. Great job to all are people who put this on and those who entered . :-BD

I had a great time and enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends! It's so fun to the dogs working and doing what they love to do!!

As always, a huge thank you to Courtney, Rod, Fred and Roni for working the blood tracking! Without John, we wouldnt have had the bay pen and that is always a ball!! And, we couldnt do without the ones who worked the hogs in the pen! I sure wouldnt mess with those nasty things!!

A big thanks to all who came and hope that you all had as good of a time as I did!
