OK guys, this is coming up soon, and it would be absolutely awesome for Lacy lovers to show up and support the cause! Whether you want to bring the kids to watch or run some dogs, I really encourage everyone to check it out. Steve and I had a great time last weekend, it's good people and great hogs and some really fun dogs. And it is a good mix of pen dogs, woods dogs and youngsters too, so no one should feel self conscious about joining in the fun.

Hopefully I'll have that weekend open, and if so, I'll be there. Anyone else?

They are talking about a shoat bay for younger pups, a drag race and maybe even a dog show :)) I'll get more details posted soon. But definitely put this on your calendars, it's gonna be a lot of fun!

Drag race and dog show? Does that mean there will be "Dogs in Drag" race!?!

(sorry, couldn't resist)

Darn, wish we could make it! Being Father's Day weekend makes it tough. :(
Sounds like fun!

I'd really like to make it out to this one! I gotta pay my dogs back with a good bay after the crap hunt we had this weekend on this new place... :)) I wish I was closer, though maybe we can load up and head down there. We've been driving all over the state for dog stuff for the past two weeks, and we were think about going down to the Pearsal bay next weekend, too.

Jim, you don't event want to know the comments about the drag race on the hog hunting board :))

Court, I think this is supposed to be the Father's Day treat for a lot of the guys! But Dallas isn't all that far from ;) I do hope you can make it, Ace would do a great job of representing Lacys in the pen, and I'd be more than happy to run Sadie with him if you need a second dog.

Rachel, I really hope you can make! You and your dad would really like this event. It is lots of good people and great dogs. And they'll be all the fun extras they don't have at Pearsall and McCoy. I really respect Roger and support his bays, but I'd recommend trying to get to Bremond if you have to make a choice. Though Mike, Mis, Steve and I are about two hours from Bremond, I'm sure one of us has room for y'all, and I was even considering getting a hotel room on Friday night so we could get in the entire event.

The TDHA and TnT are really gearing up for this, it is going to be an awesome event, so I hope to see a lot of you there!

It sounds like it would be fun for my younger siblings, too. My sister doesn't really like hunting unless she gets to shoot a thousand little rabbits and my brothers have the attention span of a dead monkey...

La Vernia is about 3 1/2 hours from Bremond. So, if we do go, we will definately not be arriving at 7 am! Do you know how the schedule will be? And what's their age limit on "young" dogs for the young and old bay? I'd probably run Levi and Chula in young and old and two dog amateur, and maybe team up with anyone who needs a partner. I don't want to drive down there and find out that the only bays I can run my dogs in is already over, though.

I propsed this bay to my dad today and all he said was "Are there gonna be Jagds there? I want to see some of those little monsters!" lol. :)) Looks like this bay is going to be a lot of fun.

The bay will start with the Puppy Bay, which is for any dog under 12 months. They swear they're going to start at 7 a.m. on the dot, but things got going pretty late last time, so I have a feeling it'll get going a little later than that. Next is the Young and Old, which is for one dog under 12 months and one dog over 12 months, but it doesn't matter if they are running in Pro or Am. Then they do Two Dog Pro, Two Dog Am, One Dog Am and One Dog Pro.

I can't remember if they broke for the kids' pig chase after Y/O or after Two Dog Pro, but I'm sure they'll break before the Two Dog Am. Of course you can run a dog more than once if you do it in a different combination. Dog A can run with dog B, and dog A can also run with dog C, then dog C can run with dog B again. It might wear them out, but if the classes are big enough, you could spread it out.

But with all the extra events they want to do, I imagine this will be a pretty long day. Shoat bay, drag race, kids' events, auctions... phew!

And yes, I know at least one group of the Jagds will be there :-BD Everyone loves watching them run. One set of Jagds in the Two Dog actually caught out. They couldn't have been more than 20 pounds, maybe 15, and this huge 200 pound boar was running around like they didn't even exist. They sure are crazy little buggers!

Alright, thanks. I hope there's extra dogs to run with, because I'd like to run Chula more than once and she doesn't qualify as a puppy anymore.

Trying to find a way to justify 32 hours in a car!

Heck, this is the perfect justification :)) But one day you really do need to plan a trip, even if it is just the two-legged members of the Browning family, to visit all us Texans. Doesn't matter if there is an event or not, we'll show you and your wise wife an great time ;)

Oh, and Rachel, it looks like Steve will have to miss this bay. I have the option of bringing Brutus, but last time he was in my car he pissed on the fabric seats :-L, so I haven't decided if it's worth the hassle. I'm so glad I have a female dog. Anyway, if you want a second dog to get in extra runs for Chula or Levi, just let me know.
