I am a dark shade of green with envy. I really want to be there with Cannon, but I was out of town last weekend (nephew graduated in San Diego), will be out of town -next- weekend (watching volleyball in Florida), and Ann used all her time off being sick, so she couldn't make the trip with me. We -will- make it to Texas soon, so Cannon can meet his kin and see a few hogs.

Mis, if you want to run Abby in the Two Dog Am, Sadie is ready and willing. I would like her to do more than just the One Dog Am if possible and would rather run with an owner I know.

I think Abby will do a good job, and more importantly it will be a good learning experience for her. I'm sure it will be a good learning experience for the poodle too!

Lamar and I just had that conversation..about the Poodle :)) He was talking about making it a bay dog X_X :))

I`m sure it will be a good experience for Abby ..I had just not wanted to deal with a truck load of dogs this weekend. Bay comps. are fun to watch, thats harder to do with a mess of your own dogs with ya...YES I was trying to be lazy... :))

Right now I`m trying to decide how early we need to leave out.. (-|

Y'all have fun while I sit through four hours of what is sure to prove pretty boring. Will it be interesting, a learning experience, and could it prove invaluable? YES..... But I'll be daydreaming about hogdogs.

After an exhausting & HOT day we are home..
I know between Julie & I there are TONS of pictures!!! :)

Chad it was great getting to meet you in person!!! Wish there were more hours in the day so you could have worked your Dogs at our place!!

Jimmy, DJ, Amanda..as always it was woooooooonderful seeing y'all :)

Jagd & Abby did really well in the Young & Old much to our surprise ! They tied for 5th place out of 20 some odd pairs. Jagd scored a beautiful 19.1 (out of a possible 20)
We had expected him to catch out given he is a woods dog BUT he was a good boy yesterday! Abby did really well for her first time in that atmosphere. All the people and extra dogs..she looped a little more than what she does here in our pens..she scored a 17.6.

Jagd and Sadie ran in the 2 dog amateur. Jagd scored a 18.3 that go around..he wasn't quite sure what to make of Julie cheering Sadie on :)) I can not for the life of me remember what Sadie scored..I`m sure Julie will remember. Anyway they represented the Lacy Breed very well.

Had some great conversations about the breed with folks both versed in the subject and people just discovering the breed.

This comp was a fund raiser for the TDHA and I finally got to meet in person some of their B.O.D. as well as seeing Mr. Mason again. OHHHHHHH and the Ugly Dog crew was there..THAT was a true pleasure!!! :D

Over all it was a great day! Hope everyone else has as much fun as we did!

Julie how did Sadie do in the 1 dog??

Just walked in the door! What a trip! I had fun at the bay and it was good meeting all of you! I sure do wish I would have gotten there early to try out Sage and Angie, cause on the way back to menard Jim and myself stoped at a guys house that had some hogs and those two pups did awsome at his pen. If i would have seen that before I would have entered them. i think Jimmy can tell the story better and maybe noticed more that I did. I also turned them out with jimmys two dogs Patch and Dusty and neither of them were dog aggressive at all! I wish I would have known that too and Sage would have been in that drag race :D
So I was thinking of maybe an all lacy bay or a blood trailing seminar for the next road trip? in and around feb. please :)) Its one hot and humid place down there!
Jim, I would travel with you and canon anytime but, you might not like how I travel. I left az 330 fri. mornin. stoped in silver city nm. then on to menard. picked up jimmy and on to bremond. we got there at 330 am. 14 hours of driving. left bremond back to jimmys house, then on to big springs, took a nap, and up in to albq. nm and over to the house.
(-| (-| (-| i-) i-) i-) Time for some r&r for sure.....

I don't like to dilly dally, although not sure I'd be quite the iron-man you were on that trip! But then, with two of us, we could split the driving. I'm definitely ready for a Texas road trip.

Glad you made it home safe and sound Chad! I wish I had gotten there earlier to hang out and chat more. And it's a darn good thing that tri girl went to work cows in Florida, I was smitten! She was such a pretty Lacy and full of sass.

And I'm sorry you got to experience lovely Central Texas in June, we'll definitely work on an event for the cooler months. Jim, trust me, you want to lay off the Texas road trip until September at the earliest, the heat is getting intense!

I was pleased with the way Sadie worked with Jagd in the Two Dog. Their hog was a little boring, and Jagd definitely had better form, even if he was little distracted by my cheering. Mike mentioned that about halfway through, and I was like, um, oops :ymblushing: Lamar and I need to come up with some consistent commands, because between agility, hunting, baying and basic obedience, I'm running out of good ideas. But she got a 9.3 from one judge and 8.6 from the other. I think the discrepancy in the score came from one judge marking off for loose baying, the other marking off primarily for actually looking out. She is definitely improving, and I have fun at the bays, so we'll keep working on it.

We didn't go in the One Dog until after 5 p.m. :-o It was a loooooong day. And it kept getting hotter and hotter. I ended up tying Sadie up in the trees so I could take pictures, which meant she sat in the heat for a couple hours sporadically barking at the pen. And the pigs definitely got lazier as the day went on, all they wanted to do was wallow to cool off. So when it came time for our run, Sadie went straight to hog and started baying well, and he just sat there and stared and her. With no dog to feed off of, she got bored pretty fast and looped a couple times until she looped right back to the gate. I think she was coming to get me, "Hey mom, this hog isn't moving, come help me!" Of course she was still baying her head off the entire time, she was just doing it 40 feet away from the pig :)) I ended up scratching her because I didn't want to reinforce that bad habit. If she wants to be in the pen, she needs to do her job. If she doesn't, it's just like a dog hanging out at the truck on a hunt, she gets picked up and has to wait until next time.

All in all, it was a fun day. I have tons of pictures, but they didn't turn out as well last time, most of them seem fuzzy. Looking at them zoomed close in Photoshop, I think there is dust building up on my sensor, so I'm going to get it cleaned. I'll still put the best ones up soon.
