New members Gayle and Larry Beedy sent us this historic picture of a Lacy Dog from the early 1900s. Gayle's family has had Lacys for generations. In this picture, her Great Great Great Uncle William is pictured with one his Lacys near Fredericksburg.

We'll try to get a better version of this photo, plus a couple more! But it's exciting to see the smaller build, minimal white markings and working origins of this breed all in one blurry old snapshot. Thank you again to Mr. and Mrs. Beedy!

Thanks for posting that Julie!! I am hoping that Gayle will find more info when she visits her cousins in a couple of weeks.

Does the Beedy family still maintain that line of dogs by any chance? Or are they familiar with anyone who may have?

If I am not mistaken, I have seen the Holland name on someones linage, definitely not a TLGDA paper, seems it was close to a Birk, or Sultimire dog several generations back.

I would like to hear more about what that line is doing now.

Pretty sure Sultemeir's Chip was from a Sultemeir/Holland breeding.

I actually think that you are exactly correct, Ed. I am just to lazy to go look it up :)
