Looking to place Pogo in a country home.

He is 7 year old red Lacy. He has excellent scent and sight skills and is a fit weight of 50 pounds. He is trained to beg for food by sitting still and also knows sit, down and drop it. Pogo is very house broken, and will scratch on the floor anytime he really needs to go. He would do well with hunting, farming, country and outdoor lifestyles. As a texas blue lacy, he is working breed, so having responsibilities will help him focus his energy. Pogo is very bright and picks up routines quickly. He is loyal and a good companion. He learned to fetch his first night home at 6 weeks. He is fixed. He’s comfortable and playful with small dogs.

Here are three recent photos

I’m trying to place Pogo because I'm having a person and 3 more pets move in and would like to have him in an environment that would better suit him. As a working breed, he needs a home that lets him be true to his outdoor roots, and I don’t see that I have the opportunity to provide this for him.

I can deliver him over a weekend to the areas of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Pogo was pup #5 born on January 11, 2005. The Sire was King's Woody (1236-946-99), The Dam was King's Echo (739-449-00). This was from the King family in Ivanhoe, Texas near Bohnam. He was inspected by Marlo Riley on February 1, 2005.

Have you tried talking to your breeder? As a breeder all my pups come back to me if the owner is not able to keep them any longer and need to rehome them.

Camo, I heard the breeder passed away a few years ago. I believe his name was Jerry or Ben King. It's been a good while. I did think about doing that, thanks for the tip though.

Pogo is still available.

Rod and Courtney brought him to a ranch retreat last weekend.
Their assesement was...

1. He is food driven which makes him easliy trainable, he seemed like a puppy taking things in quickly.
2. Pogo picked up quickly on their training, guestimated that he is in the top 20% for brightness.
3. He got along great with other Lacys
4. He did well on his first scent training tests
5. Was fun for Rod's daughter, who looked to be around 7, the same age as pogo.
6. He has the same personality quirks of any Lacy, no big problems that are disntinct to him.
7. Responded positively to his create training introduction.
