Slim is figuring it out at 6 months old !!! Deer #9 for her. Trail was tracked all up by humans and pigs and 17 hours old but we worked it out by starting at last blood a few times. Finally, after working through the hunters point of loss, she put her head down and pulled me 200 yards through thicket and crossed a road seeing no blood until she started licking a blood bed on the river bank. At that point she made me and the hunters I was tracking for believers. From there she went to the waters edge where the buck laying a few yards away on the edge.

I learned a lot about my dog this trail. If she is pulling then you dang sure better follow.

Excellent. I know you're proud of her! We don't track blood with our dogs, but I've heard others say over and over again that you have to trust your dog. The NOSE KNOWS. :))

Thanks for the kind words. She found another one last weekend. Good 8 point that my cousin shot in the chest with no exit wound or blood. It was dead in the woods about 80 yards away and Slim searched the edge of the field until she smelled where he went in. She turned and went in the woods and the deer was about 50 yards in the woods. No blood so she must have been smelling his interdigital scent. Proud of her
