I've been meaning to ask this for a while...has anyone fed raw fish to their dogs? We were catching and releasing this past weekend, and I had a fish swallow the hook. We really didn't want to mess with cleaning one fish, so I thought about feeding it to one of the dogs, but I wasn't sure about those sharp bones.

I dont know about the heath part but when we were kids I had a friend with a huge yellow lab that we would give live perch to. He would swallow them whole!! As kids we thought that is was the funniest thing ever! That dog lived forever so I dont think it hurt it any. :)

Raw fish bones are fine. They are soft, just like chicken or pork bones, as long as they are not cooked.

Some dogs love fish, others not so much. Of course mine are in the latter!

They all got fish for dinner a couple of nights ago, and Cookie was the only one who touched it! After eating those nasty boars, I couldn't believe they were so picky!

Ace likes the skin but not the meat and Luna isn't too crazy about either.

All three of my dogs (Lacy, Golden, Black Lab) love whole fish. I live near saltwater so they get lots of sand trout, croaker, whiting, and piggy perch.

I guess that dogs are just like people, they all have their likes and dislikes!! 2 of my dogs love canned salmon, but Abe wont touch it with a ten foot pole!! I'll have to try Larry on raw fish. Larry is like Mikey- he will eat anything!! :)) :))

When I was a kid my Uncle let the dogs clean up around his fish table so he didn't have to. Through the years I have fed dogs a mixed raw diet with great success. Good Info.

I feed canned or raw fish at least once every 2 weeks, sometimes a little more during rock season but they can get to much omega 3 so don't over feed fish,
I feed bones, eye balls, intest all good if they eat it...

How about I just don't want to touch at anytime of the day. I will need a pretty hefty fork to hold a whole fish to feed to the dogs! ;)

For those who don't know I feed raw and when I feed liver it make me sick so the dogs get it off of a fork.
