I'm 99% sure Sadie has a very mild case of kennel cough. She started the hacking on Saturday night, I was afraid she had swallowed something at first because nothing else seems wrong, but it seems pretty typical of a mild case - mainly coughing at night, I can trigger a cough with gentle pressure to the trachea, but no problems eating or swallowing. She doesn't have a runny nose or pale gums or symptoms of a fever. If it gets worse in the next few days, I'll take her to the vet for antibiotics. But everything I've heard says it's like a cold in humans, as long as it's mild just keep things low key for a few days and ride it out.

But does anyone have good home remedies for the cough part? I'm sure it is annoying for her and it would be nice to get more sleep at night. I've heard a few drops of kid's Robitussin will work, but more natural solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I've read that using a humidifier can help...nothing more natural than water.
