AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) EXECUTIVE BOARD PASSES
ANNUAL RABIES VACCINATION WAIVER - ... 5458ebfe65 ... cfedd11d5a (please copy & paste link into browser if it doesn't work by clicking
on it)

"...AVMA recognizes some animals might require a waiver from rabies
vaccination because the vaccination poses an unacceptably high risk
to the health of the individual animal..."

I have often posted that you should never vaccinate a sick dog. The vaccine vials have that stated on the label. Now, a dog can be exempt from the legally required rabies vaccine if the dog is sick. If your dog is sick and a vet says that the dog is due a rabies vaccine, you can now get an exemption. It might not be easy, but for the love of all dogs, please read this and remember it when going for a rabies vaccine. And, since no other vaccines are required by law, if your dog is sick, or very elderly, DO NOT get that dog a vaccine at that time.
