This keeps coming to my mind, since Clifford's pup got some pills out of Cristi's purse. Most people know about this now, but for those who dont and for those of us who put our purses on the floor- and they are usually open-
If you chew gum that has Xyilitol in it, be very, very careful. This product is a natural sweetener made from the bark of birch trees, but it is converted to alcohol in the process. It is that that makes it so dangerous for dogs. A very small amount of it will kill a dog, quickly. I cant remember the brand of gum that has Xyilitol in it, but just be careful. For us moms of 4 legged critters, it's probably best not to put our purses on the floor when we have pets. And, I am as guilty as anyone- purse on floor- purse wide open.
