I shot my first deer with my bow today. Nothing special, just a slick head. It's definitely more exciting with a bow rather than a gun.

They were getting nervous and she quartered to me, and I thought that was the only shot I would have so I took it. I hit her in the front o fhte shoulder and I could see her run about 60+ yards, and I wasn't sure where she ended up. I thought I'd let Baylee, my brother-in-law Aaron's blood dog, stretch her legs. I put her on blood where I shot her about an hour later. Eighty yards and 45 seconds later, Baylee was standing over the doe looking like "Really? You got me out for this?".

she decided it was worth it when I cut her off a little piece. ;)

Good job!! It gave Baylee a nice break anyway!

Congrats, DJ! I guess all that scouting and practice paid off. Bowhunting is definitely addicting.

Congratulations on your first bow kill. Bowhunting is so much more challenging than rifle hunting that there is no real comparison. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
