My cousin (Heath), brother (Lance) and I decided to see if our way behind other breeds, Lacys could stumble across some hogs the other day. We took two of our inferior to other breed Lacy dogs, Baylee and Cooper. They went out about 600 yards and started baying what sounded like a herd of hogs. On our way to them, the bay broke but they were able to stop her after around 100 yard race. We got close and sent in the catch dogs. Cooper rolled out and was baying again 400 yards out but we were ready to go and it was a real bad thicket. Luckily after a little while, we were able to call him out, since he didn't leave the country like some of those long range other breed dogs.
Turned loose around 5:30 p.m., caught a hog, and made it home in time for supper. That's what I like in a "true hunting dog".

Terrible it took you that long, :)
You should just throw them mutts on the street (just let me know where you let them go at). :)
Great job even with way behind dogs.

Glad my buddy has a dog outta tuffxaggie she's really been a good blood dog. Hates hogs too. Haven't turned her loose yet on a hog hunt but might this weekend. Do your dogs check in often? Or stay out busy? And only come out when called?
