Lacys Can Excel in a Variety of Fields

Though still rare in the world of coon and squirrel hunting, Lacy Dogs will instinctively tree game. They have the warm nose and chop of a cur. Lacys have been trained to retrieve birds as well. They appear to have the most success retrieving dove in Texas brush.

For ranchers looking to keep predators and destructive critters off large properties, Lacys make good varmint dogs. They are also very territorial and protective. These traits add to their value as an all-around ranch dog.

Lacy Dogs are athletic, intelligent dogs that quickly pick up on complex tasks. Given their speed, nimbleness and drive, it is no surprise that Lacys can excel in agility and flyball. Not all Lacys have the right personality to thrive in competitive dog sports, and training once a week may not be enough to satisfy their intense drive. But these activities can be a great way to exercise and bond with your dog.
